Thèmes de recherche / Research foci

Katia Chirkova has been with CRLAO since October 2006. Her research interests include Sino-Tibetan linguistics, linguistic typology, areal liguistics, language contact. She currently focuses on a synchronic and diachronic description of Tibeto-Burman languages spoken in the South-West of China. These include Tibetan languages (e.g., Baima) and Qiangic languages (e.g., Shixing or Lizu). She also works on the semantics and syntax of Beijing Mandarin.
